National Youth Camp 2009

Last weekend (May 9-10) was the second annual Youth Camp for Goju Ryu Karate New Zealand.

It turned out to be a freezing weekend in Taupo that saw attendance from 65 youth from all over the North Island. There was training available on the Saturday with some of the best instructors in New Zealand and a Tournament on the Sunday.

It was for some, their first tournament so there were a few nerves about but by the end of the day there were smiles everywhere. There was great atmosphere of support and learning that everyone experienced and appreciated. Congratulations to all those competitors who participated, I hope it inspired you to train harder and compete at some more Tournaments.

A huge thank you to the parents who helped in the kitchen and at camp and the Instructors who both organized their Dojo's to come along and provided great new and exciting instruction. I'm sure next year will be even bigger and better.
