Brief History of the Club

West Otago Tapanui Karate club has been operational for 16 years.

Main Instructor

Sensei Gabriel Phillips, Yondan (4th Dan)

Gabriel began karate at the age of 9, initially training in Kyokushin kai karate. He has now been training for about 40 years and attained his Yondan under Higaonna Sensei in 2007. His other interests include kickboxing, judo, diving, golf and silverculture work.
